Porto Cervo: north-east Sardinia

Porto Cervo is the most important center of the Costa Smeralda. The beauty of nature and the sea, combined with the charm and luxury of the villas, the hotels and yachts moored in the harbor, make this resort the most sought after destination by the Italian and international jet set. Countless events and festivals which take place every year between the surroundings and the famous Piazzetta of Porto Cervo.

The tourist village is part of the municipality of Arzachena, in the province of Olbia-Tempio in northern Sardinia, historical and geographical region known as Gallura. The Arab Prince Karim Aga Khan, passing throuth in the early '60s, fell in love with this place and immediately saw the huge potential. In a short time he bought the land for a few francs from the shepherds in the area and began to build villas and hotels. This saw the birth of the tourist industry, not only in Gallura, but in the whole of Sardinia.

The glamor and charm of Porto Cervo, the immense natural heritage, food, wine and culture of Sardinia. Do not miss such a visit to the archaeological site of Arzachena, where you can see good examples of the ancient remains of the proto Sardinian civilization, such as the Nuraghe Prisgiona and the Tomb of the Giants Coddu Vecchiu. Lots of fantastic excursions on the sea (the discovery of the archipelago of La Maddalena, Tavolara and Corsica) and land, and the enchanting forests of Barbagia.
